Toastmaster for Fraud Lawyers Association Annual Dinner

On Friday 3rd February 2023 I have had the absolute pleasure to be in Central London as the Toastmaster for 750 Lawyers attending the Fraud Lawyers Association Annual Dinner in the Ballroom at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane! The pre-dinner Drinks Reception was followed by the call to Dinner, successful movement of guests into thd Ballroom, and the announcement of the Chairperson’s speech, amongst others. And it was a great pleasure to work alongside Laura and her team, and a great band in Levitate.

Very privileged to have driven nearly three hours to Great Yarmouth to be Sally & Matt’s Toastmaster on their very special day! Thanks for inviting me to play a small part in your Wedding Day.

Great to be working alongside Donna at Burgh Hall, and Awaken Images Photographers.

A really, lovely couple and a really, great venue… many congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Thompson 😀!

And we received lovely feedback from the bride Sally,

Why have a Professional Toastmaster at Your Wedding?

Your happy and helpful Toastmaster!

For many people attending a function where a professional Wedding Toastmaster is working, the only visible signs of his/her presence are the relatively few announcements he/she makes. That concept of a Toastmaster is, however, completely misleading.  A Professional Toastmaster is however an expert in procedure and etiquette, who adds dignity as well as presence to each and every occasion. He/she also displays the combination of tact, diplomacy and management skills which are key to the effective and smooth running of any event.

At a Wedding of any culture, a professional Toastmaster will work very closely with their couple to ensure that they provide effective and overall management of the couple’s very special day. He/she possesses a high degree of sensitivity and empathy, together with a depth and breadth of knowledge of both protocol and event organisation. Of a Toastmaster’s activity, over ninety percent is never seen by the majority of people attending a function. His/her discrete and unassuming attention to detail together with that close liaison throughout an event ensures that it flows quite effortlessly to a successful conclusion, which is their customer’s aim.

For example, by appointing a professional Toastmaster for a Wedding the customer will receive not only his/her absolute support on the day, but will also benefit generally from a meeting beforehand at the venue. This will enable the detailed planning of the day to be discussed, guidance notes for the formal speeches to be shared, as well as advice leading up to the special Wedding Day.

As a Fellow of the Guild of Professional Toastmasters (FGPT), I have been trained to a very high standard which has included formative assessments and the successful completion of an examination. I will generally wear distinctive Red livery and proudly display my Guild jewel. However, as my key role is to help to reduce the stress on the Bridal Party, I will also have available a number of ‘background items’. These may include a spare, clean handkerchief for the Mother-of-the Bride who has forgotten hers and whose emotions have got the better of her, or a needle and cotton for a guest’s button who has come off.

Using a professional and properly trained Toastmaster ensures that:

  • The ‘happy couple’, and their Bridal Party, can relax and enjoy their special Wedding Day with their guests, not having to worry about the details or having to manage things.
  • The venue management is allowed to concentrate on the delivery of its own tasks
  • The ‘happy couple’ can be confident that the responsibility for the detailed co-ordination has been reliably delegated to a professional
  • The Wedding Reception will be conducted not only with due authority and dignity, but also with the necessary experience and appropriate humour to ensure all round enjoyment for everyone
  • The customer is assured of the extra ‘touch of class’ and style that will make the occasion truly memorable
  • The guests at any event will have a readily identifiable source of information and assistance

Wedding Toastmaster – The Cambridge Belfry

Yesterday I was back once again at the wonderful The Cambridge Belfry, and honoured to be Paula and Paul’s Toastmaster for their special Wedding Day.
A lovely ceremony was followed by a drinks reception and photographs by the lake with Marina Jacklin as our excellent photographer.
Once I had announced and accompanied our Bride & Bridegroom into their Wedding Breakfast, four speeches were followed by a lovely meal and a Singing Waiter performance. The Wedding Breakfast was completed with the cutting of the Wedding Cake and the formal exit of the Bride & Bridegroom.
Many congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Gardner 🥂😁!

Wedding Toastmaster – The Cambridge Belfry

Today’s Wedding was back at the absolutely wonderful The Cambridge Belfry, working alongside Alison and her team.
A lovely Celebrant ceremony delivered by Liz Bagley for our beautiful Bride Ayesha, and Bridegroom Will was followed by a drinks reception and about two thirds of the photographs taken before the heavens opened. However three great speeches were following by a tasty Wedding Breakfast, co-ordinated and announced by myself. And with the Formal Exit followed the remainder of the photographs taken in the sunshine 🌞!
Many congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Byrne 🥂 ❤!

Wedding Toastmaster – Fawkham, Kent

Yesterday I had the very great privilege of being Sam & Max’s Toastmaster on their special Wedding Day in the grounds of their own home in Fawkham, Kent.
We had a few early spots of rain but that did not stop a lovely outdoor ceremony followed by a drinks reception and photographs, with the latter all being announced by myself. The 120 guests were then treated to three great speeches followed by a sumptuous Wedding Breakfast in the tipi, and the cutting of the Cheese Wedding Cake. My day concluded with the announcing of the Bride & Bridegroom’s First Dance.
Many congratulations to a lovely couple, and the new Mr & Mrs Gregory 🥂❤!
